WESSON – The Wesson Lady Cobras knocked off the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs 11-4 Wednesday night in Region 7-3A slowpitch softball action.

The Lady Cobras (12-5, 2-0), coached by Jackie Johnson, continue action today. They host the Florence Lady Eagles. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m., followed by varsity action at 6.

Wesson 11, Franklin Co. 4

Wesson came out and overpowered the Lady Bulldogs to stay undefeated in Region 3A action. The Lady Cobras out hit Franklin County 14-9.

Cheyenne Gladden was the winning pitcher for Wesson. Shelly Case suffered the setback for the Lady Bulldogs.

Bailey Middleton provided the offensive charge to lead the Lady Cobras at the plate with two home runs. Kayla Britt contributed a triple, a double and two singles.

Sarah Robinson helped with a double and a single. Harmoni Ashley had a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Amber Brinson, Hailey Chassion, Sabria Green and Gladden.

Hayle McKinney was the top offensive leader for Franklin County with a home run and two singles. Mary Brabham provided three singles. Emilee Wallace, Lalegh Corban and Cheyenne Higgs hit safely.

The Lady Bulldogs are coached by Dana Smith.
