Willie Lester ‘Pete’ Huber

Published 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Willie Lester Huber, “Pete,” was born Jan. 14, 1960 to Fred Neal and Irma Joyce Anding Huber. He was a graduate of Loyd Star High School. He met and married his lifelong love, Nancy (Waldrop) Huber, and they shared two children, a daughter, Amanda Warren, and a son, Jason Huber.

Pete worked in the automotive field as a mechanic and a mechanist until his accident on June 17, 1997. The accident left him in a wheelchair, but not bound to it, for he never let that chair stop him from living. He was the best husband, daddy and friend to us.

He is preceded in death by three unborn grandchildren; his mother, Irma Joyce Hayes; stepfather, James Hayes; sister, Patricia Huber; brothers, baby boy Huber and Frank Hayes; and grandparents, Willie and Lillie Mae Anding, Irene Kester and Fred and Marie Brister.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy Huber; son, Jason (Miranda) Huber; daughter, Amanda (Sid) Warren; six grandchildren, Logan Montgomery, Travis Huber, Matthew Montgomery, Madison Montgomery, Tyler Huber and soon-to-be baby Huber; his father, Fred Neil Huber; three sisters, Patty Russell, Kim (Scott) Hampton and Shannon Floyd; brother, Torre Huber; special friends, April Martin and Clark Fugler; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
