Asks for no vote on liquor

Dear Editor,
It has been my pleasure to live and work in Brookhaven for the past 28 years. I met my wife here, and we raised our two daughters here.
We have had the opportunity to leave a couple of times, but I loved it here and chose to stay. So to me, there is no better place to live than Brookhaven.
That is why I was concerned when I heard that a local group was pushing for the sale of liquor. When I have asked why, the common answer is that we will have more restaurants.
Let me give one fact for readers to consider. In Corinth this past December, the citizens approved a liquor referendum, and as of this week, there were no new restaurants and six new liquor stores.
I want to ask you to please join my family and me and vote no. I understand that if this vote passes that it is not the end of the world – but it will change the world that we live in!
