Funeral services for Jerry Gene Adams of Tupelo, formerly of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Adams, 67, died Feb. 25, 2013, at his home. He was born in Brookhaven on Feb. 24, 1946, to Vercie Adams and Lillie Laird Adams.

He was a longtime resident of Brookhaven and a retired businessman.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, James V. Adams; and sister, Louise Adams Pearson.

Survivors are his daughter, Shelley Adams Milligan and husband, Michael, of Olive Branch; son, Jerry Gene “Chip” Adams II of Round Rock, Texas; two granddaughters, Meg and Lillie Milligan; three sisters, Beulah Adams Wall, Carolyn Adams Case and Inez Adams Harrell; sister-in-law, Donis Allred Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, 691 Highway 84 W, Brookhaven, MS 39601; or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
