A memorial service for Carl Joseph Steen, of Ruth, will be announced at a later date. Marshall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

     Mr. Steen, 58, died Dec. 17, 2012, at his home. He was born in New Orleans on Dec. 30, 1954, to Milton Paul Steen and Ann Harrison Steen.

     He worked in the McComb school district at Otken Elementary School.

     Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Sybil McKernan; and one brother, Don Steen.

     Survivors are his wife, Susan Steen; children, Jennifer Emmons, Christopher Mack and wife, Angel, and Heather Mack; four grandchildren, Jacob Landry, Jeremy Landry, Alyshia Emmons and Destiny Walker; one great-granddaughter, Arabella Grace; stepmother, Donna Hurley; siblings, Milton Steen and wife, Adie, Cheryl Hemings and Gail Bourgeois; in-laws, Annie Steen and Billy McKernan; and a host of other relatives and friends.

     In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Brookhaven Animal Rescue League, P.O. Box 3477, Brookhaven, MS 39602.
