Dorsey Edwin Furr, 76, of Wesson, earned his angel wings and went home to be with his Savior as he passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 16, 2012.
He was born May 30, 1936, in Wesson, the son of the late Wilmer and Maude Furr.
Mr. Furr was a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where he was a member of the band. He earned a degree in accounting from Mississippi State University. After college, Mr. Furr went to work for Keystone Seneca Wire Plant in Brookhaven as an accountant, where he also retired. He was an active member of Decell Memorial Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir. His church and family were the focus of his life, which he served faithfully and displayed the Christian graces that today so abundantly bless our memories.
Mr. Furr was the most selfless, faithful man one could ever meet. He inspired others by his faith, love and generosity he displayed on a daily basis. At a young age, he devoted his life to caring for his mother and family as his father passed away when he was a young child. Mr. Furr always put others before himself and would give you the clothes off his back. It was his mission to allow God to use him to bless others. He was a blessing and inspiration to all he met. Words cannot begin to express our sorrow, but we find great joy and peace knowing that he is singing in God’s heavenly choir.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Angelyn and Billy Hubbard, of Ocean Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Margaret Furr, of Wesson; niece, Barbara Hancock, of Houston; niece, Amy Furr, of Jackson; nephew, Tracy Hubbard, of Orange Beach, Ala.; nephew and wife, Mark and Courtney Hubbard, of Ocean Springs; great-nephew and wife, Blake and Nikki Hancock, of Houston; great-niece, Maura Kaye Hubbard and great-nephews, Brock and Brayson Hubbard, all of Ocean Springs.
Mr. Furr was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Maude Furr and his brother, Donald Eben Furr.
