Funeral services for Betty Jean Walters, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m. on Monday, June 4, at Moak’s Creek Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on N. Jackson Street is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. Walters, 78, died May 31, 2012, at her home. She was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 5, 1933, to Floyd and Bertha Mae Adams Lenard.
She was a member of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church and retired from General Motors where she was a machine operator. Mrs. Walters was also known to be a very good cook.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors are her husband of 58 years, Melvin Walters; daughter, Pam Walters Clark and husband, Jamie, of Bogue Chitto; sister, Mary Crosby, of Bogue Chitto; grandchildren, Britton Clark and wife, Jennifer, and Charla Coley and husband, Chase; great-grandchild, Sam Clark; special friend, Shirley Landreneau; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Britton Clark, Chase Coley, Ricky Crosby, Chris Elkins, Matthew Elkins and James Moak.
