Born and raised in Arkansas, he was the newspaper editor of the “Daily Leader” of Rogers, Ark. After the death of his oldest daughter, Dona, he moved his family to Natchez, where he owned and operated Cottage Grocery for many years.

Upon graduation of his two daughters, Don and Annette moved to McCall Creek where he managed STAR Auto, working faithfully until his illness. His wit, charm and one-liners quickly led to his famous nickname of “Flash,” known to many members of the Brookhaven community.

He will be dearly missed by all that knew him, but is now at peace, being reunited once again with his wife, daughter, mother and father.

Rest in peace now, Poppy. We love you.
