Katie Samantha Leggett became the bride of Lawrence Wayne Jergins on March 10, 2012, at Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Brookhaven.

The bride is the daughter of Samson and Sue Leggett of Bogue Chitto. The groom is the son of Kenny Wayne and Amanda Jergins of Bogue Chitto. Grandparents of the bride are Claudine Smith and the late Jere Smith of Bogue Chitto, and Georgia Walker and the late Cecil Walker of Brookhaven. Grandparents of the groom are Barto and D. Sue Laird and the late Sunny and Idell Jergins, all of Bogue Chitto.

The candlelight ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Otis Bowman, the groom’s former preacher. The music was provided by Keith Smith of Brookhaven. Directing the wedding was Sharon Lofton of Brookhaven. Presiding at the bridal registry was Taylor Smith of Brookhaven.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a diamond white strapless, A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and corset closure. The airy shimmer of Brescia organza gracefully moved across the A-line skirt. The beading and crystal embellished lace motif added a stunning element to the asymmetrical dropped bodice. The bride wore a two-tier fingertip length veil, edged in embroidered, crystals and beading. She carried a bouquet of white and pink roses embellished with rhinestones. Tucked inside was the bride’s baby bonnet, handmade by her mother.

Serving as matron of honor was the bride’s mother, Sue Leggett, of Bogue Chitto. Bridesmaids were Miranda Leggett and Jessie Byrd, both of Bogue Chitto.

Attendants wore taupe knee-length halter-top dresses, embellished with rhinestone and beaded waistlines. Bouquets consisted of white and pink roses. They wore rhinestone chandelier earrings, as a gift from the bride.

Serving as flower girl was Ava Grace Leggett of Bogue Chitto. She wore a knee-length ivory dress embellished with a beaded and crystal belt. She wore rhinestone earrings as a gift from the bride. She carried a white satin basket of pink and white rose petals.

Serving as best man was the groom’s father, Kenny Wayne Jergins, of Bogue Chitto. Groomsmen were Zach Smith and Jeffery Gill, both of Brookhaven. Ring bearer was Ethan Jergins of Bogue Chitto.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church. The champagne colored three-tiered cake was classic white with butter cream icing with pink hand-piped designs and topped with the bronze initial “J.”

Photographing all of the precious memories of the bride’s and groom’s “I Do’s” was Robin Smith of Bogue Chitto.

The couple left the reception in an array of bubbles.

On the eve of the wedding the groom’s parents hosted a fish fry rehearsal supper at Johnson Grove Church of Christ in Bogue Chitto.

The happy couple is now at home in Bogue Chitto.
