Funeral services for Elbert Ray “Bill”Boyte, of Brookhaven, are noon on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Bethel TemplePentecostal Church in Brookhaven, with burial in Green LawnMemorial Cemetery in Natchez. Riverwood Family Funeral Service isin charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday from 10 am until noon at the church.
Mr. Boyte, 93, died Nov. 4, 2011, at his home. He was born inMississippi on Oct. 8, 1918, to Martin Wilson “Little Martin” Boyteand Susanne “Susie” Elizabeth Williamson Boyte.
He was a machinist at Natchez-Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company for38 years and of the Baptist faith. He was an Army-Tech-4 Machinistin 106 Ordinance Co. in World War II. Mr. Boyte graduated from EastLincoln School in 1937 and never missed a single day of school.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Ruby DaleDunaway, of Brookhaven, and Elcie Boyte Smith, of Vidalia, La.; andbrothers, Don Boyte, of Natchez, Ruie Boyte, of Natchez, ElzyBoyte, of Port Gibson, Dee Boyte, of Natchez, and Pervis Boyte, ofMichigan.
Survivors are his wife, Gena A Boyte; son, The Rev. Ronald G. Boyteand wife, Darlene, of Oshkosh, Wis.; daughter, Patricia (Pat) Smithand husband, Bob K., of Brookhaven; sister, Bertie Cleveland, ofHammond, La.; four grandchildren, Tammy C. Fuller and husband,Buddy, of Brookhaven, Philip A. Smith and wife, Kesha, ofBrookhaven, Corey J. Boyte and wife, Danielle, of Appleton, Wis.,and Seth Boyte, of Oshkosh, Wis.; and four great-granddaughters,Danica Fuller, Emileigh Fuller, Adrianna Fuller and MirandaSmith.
