Graveside services for Charles B. Price, ofFairmont City, Ill., are 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, at RosehillCemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Price, 96, died Oct. 30, 2011, at his home. He was born inBrookhaven on June 7, 1915, to Charles and Velora Summers Price.His mother was a graduate of and later teacher at WhitworthCollege.
He was a devout Christian, faithful to God, loyal to the Baptistchurch and one with deep concern for others. He was a Navy veteranof World War II, a Blue Lodge Master Mason and a 32nd degree Masonand a Shriner. Mr. Price spent his entire work career as a peaceoffice-first as a motorcycle cop and a desk sergeant with the cityof Jackson, Tenn., and then as a Tennessee Highway patrolman. Heserved out his career as a railroad detective with the ICRR basedin New Orleans, La.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; andbrother.
Survivors are his son, Charles A. Price and wife, Judy, of FairmontCity, Ill; and several cousins, three of whom live in Brookhaven,Mrs. John Perkins, Mrs. Tom Brady and Julius Summers.
