Funeral services for Henry Glen Nunnery, ofLoveland, Ohio, formerly of Franklin County, are 11 a.m. onThursday, Nov. 3, at Mueller Parker Funeral Home in Madison, Ohio,with burial in Dayton National Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Nunnery, 86, died Oct. 31, 2011, at The Lodge Care Center inLoveland. He was born in Franklin County on April 1, 1925, to Griffand Mary Nunnery.
After 28 years of service, he retired from the U.S. Air Force in1978 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio. He andhis wife, Sandra, returned to Ohio from Mississippi in August andhad been residing in Deerfield Township. He lived in Mississippifor 24 years.
Mr. Nunnery was a member of the Mississippi State Guard for 18years and retired as a colonel. He was a member of John QuitmanMasonic Lodge No. 244 in Auburn, and a member of the AmericanLegion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled Veterans Association andthe Sons of the Confederacy in Summit.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and two sisters, AgnesLofton and Hazel Cowart.
Survivors are his wife of 31 years, Sandra Haines Nunnery;children, Henry Glen Nunnery Jr. and wife, Deb, Burks Nunnery,Bruce Nunnery and wife, Karla, Robin Wagner and Barbara Moore andhusband, Daniel; sister, Gertrude Spring; eight grandchildren,Henry Glen Nunnery III and wife, Missy, Blair Nunnery and wife,Mary, Morgan Nunnery and fiancée, Lisa Browning, U.S. Army Sgt.Stephen Rutledge, Katelin Rutledge, April Moore, U.S. Army Pfc.Kathryn Moore and Stephanie Moore; three great-grandchildren,Samantha Nunnery, Aurora Nunnery and Chopper Wayne Chord;step-great-grandson, James Coss; and dear friend, Jay Boys.
