Funeral services for Ruth Jane Waldrop, ofPearl, are 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, at Pearlhaven Baptist Churchin Brookhaven with burial in Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven.Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home andMonday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Waldrop, 76, died Aug. 4, 2011, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital. She was born in Brookhaven on July 26, 1935, toJohn Everett Fairchild Sr. and Ruby Lois Harveston.
She was retired. She was a Christian and a member of PearlhavenBaptist Church, where she organized the Golden Pearls. She taughtvarious Sunday school classes, spoke in numerous churches whengiven the opportunity and was also the published author of “CastThy Bread Upon the Waters.”
Preceding her in death was her husband, Willard Ray Waldrop; herparents; her brothers, John Everett Fairchild Jr. and MarvinFairchild; her sister, Virginia Smith; and her nephew, TonySmith.
Survivors are her sons, Gregory Ray Waldrop, of Pearl, and TimothyEdward Waldrop and wife, Angela Kay, of Brookhaven; her daughters,Teresa Waldrop Nix and husband, Randy Lamar, of Pine Bluff, Ark.,and Pamela Darlene Williams and husband, Steven Joel, ofBrookhaven; her brothers, Roy Fairchild and wife, Joyce, and HenryFairchild, all of Brookhaven; her sisters, Margaret Fairchild, ofByram, Lydia Brent and husband, Gerald, of Silver Creek, andCatherine Callender and husband, Dale, of Brookhaven; and hergrandchildren, Whitney Waldrop, Jessica Waldrop, Alex Waldrop andBrooke Williams, all of Brookhaven, and Tyler Waldrop, ofPearl.
