Funeral services for Fred Henry Roberts, ofBrookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, at Mt. Pisgah A.M.E.Church in Wesson with burial in the church cemetery. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Monday from 1 until 7 p.m., with family present from6 until 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Roberts, 72, died July 4, 2011, at River Region Medical Centerin Vicksburg. He was born on Nov. 28, 1938, to Henry Roberts andBernevia Wilson Roberts.
He was a 1958 graduate of Progress High School in Loyd Star and agraduate of Mississippi Vocational College (now MVSU) with a degreein brick masonry. He retired after working for the Lincoln CountyCo-Op, the Brookhaven Brickyard, Adams Construction Company, HavenHall Health Care Center and Polk’s Steak House. He was a veteran ofthe United States Army and a member of Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church,where he served on the steward board.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his daughter, Deborah Sanders and husband, Graylon,of Brentwood, Calif.; his grandchildren, Shelby and GraylonSanders, of Brentwood; his brothers, Clyde Roberts and BillyRoberts, both of Brookhaven; his sister, Doris Henry and husband,Charles, of Flint, Mich.; his special aunt, Alice Wilson, of Flint;and his loving companion and best friend, Freda Quinn Hairston, ofSan Leandro, Calif.
