Wesson Cobras sweep Pelahatchie

PELAHATCHIE – J.J. Sutton scored 15 points and D.J. Coleman 14in leading the Wesson Cobras to a 66-57 Saturday night win over thePelahatchie Chiefs. James Clay chipped in 11 points and Terry Brown10, plus 8 rebounds.

In the varsity girls game, Wesson beat the Lady Chiefs 46-36 asMakenzie Rials scored 15 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, made 6 stealsand 2 assists. Mandy James pulled down 14 rebounds and made 4steals.

The Cobras (8-11, 5-4), coached by Rusty Newman, led the Chiefs30-24 at halftime.

“It was a good win for our seniors,” said Newman. “Sutton came offthe bench and played a great game.”

Darryan Ragsdale led the Chiefs and all scorers with 25 points,plus 9 rebounds.

The Lady Cobras (7-14, 1-8) got 8 points and 5 rebounds from DylanHarris as they led 22-7 at halftime.

“I’m proud of our girls and I was glad to a get a win,” said Wessongirls coach Rusti Magee.

The Lady Chiefs got 14 points and 10 rebounds from Jasmine Nelson.,Lindsey Kell7 added 13 points.
