West Lincoln Bears rough up Sebastopol

Tuesday night’s frigid weather didn’t cool off the unbeaten WestLincoln Bears. They whipped Sebastopol’s Bobcats 83-57 as seniorguard Jay Case scored 20 points, leading five Bears in doublefigures.
In the varsity girls game, senior guard Karli Herrington pumped in20 points, directing West Lincoln to a 49-27 win against Sebastopolin Region 7-1A action. Senior post Katie Mullins chipped in 15points and 5 rebounds in Jack Case Gymnasium.
Bogue Chitto hosts West Lincoln for a Friday night showdown,starting at 5 p.m. with a junior varsity girls game in R.L. “Bob”Calhoun Gymnasium.
The Bears (18-0, 3-0) had no trouble with Sebastopol, roaring to a44-28 halftime lead. De Price followed Case with 17 points. MauriceJackson had 13 points, Calvin Kees 11 and Lucas Burris 10. Burrisalso had 13 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.
“We pushed the ball and played at the pace we wanted to play formost of the game,” said West Lincoln boss Lane Young. “Our defenseis not where we want it to be but offensively we were prettyconsistent.”
Young said Jackson “did a great job coming off the bench for us.”He blocked 3 shots and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Sebastopol got 27 points from James Patrick.
The Lady Bears (11-7, 3-0) romped to a 27-9 halftime lead. Mullinsmade 5 steals and Herrington had 5 rebounds.
“Our defense was pretty good the first half,” said Coach Young.”Our girls must keep working to get better.”
The Lady Bobcats got 7 points from Lexus Kennedy.
