Funeral services for Elaine Smith Prouty were held at 2:30 p.m.on Dec. 11, 2010, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home, with burial inEdwards Cemetery.

Elaine, 82, died Dec. 9, 2010, at the University of MississippiMedical Center in Jackson. She was a member of McRaven Church ofChrist in Clinton. She was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 5,1928.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Willie Hewitt and GraceSmith; her husband, Paul Prouty; and her brothers, Maurice Smith,Willie Hewitt Smith Jr. and Rodney Smith.

Survivors are her sisters, Neva Groome of Dallas, Texas, Arva PearlSmith of Brookhaven, and Betty Allen of Edwards; her brother, KirbyConrad Smith of Wynndale; and numerous nieces, nephews andrelatives.
