Funeral services for Jack Cupit Sr., of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty, withburial in Bethel Cemetery near Liberty.

Visitation is Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. Cupit, 92, died Nov. 6, 2010, at St. Dominic-Jackson MemorialHospital in Jackson. He was born in Amite County on Sept. 9, 1918,to John and Katie Cupit.

He was a native of Amite County and a longtime resident of Liberty,and had been a resident of Brookhaven for the past 15 years.

He was retired from his work as the owner and operator of theLiberty Tastee Freeze.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 55 years,Inez Etheridge Cupit.

Survivors are his wife, Mildred S. Cupit, of Brookhaven; his sons,Jack Cupit Jr. and wife Dalpha, of Liberty, Charles Cupit and wifeSusie, of Brookhaven, and Johnny Cupit and wife Betty, of Liberty;his daughters, Elaine Cupit Meredith and husband Billy, and BetsyCupit Coker, all of Brookhaven; his stepchildren, Billy Richardson,Tommy Richardson, Melton Richardson and Mike Richardson, all ofBrookhaven; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, andgreat-great-grandchildren.
