George Bridges Williams, 86, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, atPromise Hospital in Vicksburg.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Homein Vicksburg with Dr. Matt Buckles officiating. Burial will followat Green Acres Memorial Park in Vicksburg.

Mr. Williams was born in McComb and had been a resident ofVicksburg most of his life. He resided in Brookhaven at the time ofhis death.

He was a retired engineer with the Illinois Central Railroad. Hewas a veteran of World War II with the Navy Seabees. He was amember of the First Baptist Church in Vicksburg.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Allene Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Ratcliff Williams, of Brookhaven;his sons, Benton Williams, of Vicksburg, Jesse Williams, of McComb,and James Williams, of Huntington, Texas; his stepson, JimmyRatcliff, of Brookhaven; his sister, Grace Bowers, of McComb; hisbrothers, D. C. Williams, of Hattiesburg, and Aubrey Williams, ofSt. Paul, Minn.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren,and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Williams, Ramsey Williams, DamonWilliams, Joseph Williams, Jimmy Williams and Andrew Penley.
