In Proverbs 4:11-12 (NIV) God says, “I guide you in the way ofwisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your stepswill not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.”

Congratulations to Johnnie B. and Annie Frances Hudson, whocelebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on April 6. May Godcontinue to bless each of you and your family daily.

Damascus Church pastor, the Rev. Robert Daniels, Sister NormanDaniels, and the church family invite all of you to come out today,April 25, at 5 p.m. to see a one-act, three-scene play titled, “IsIt I Lord?” Come and see the Passover, the Crucifixion and theResurrection of Jesus Christ portrayed in this play.

Alean Fairman is a warrior and a longtime resident of the Loyd Starcommunity. She united with Ebenezer AME Church at the age of 10,and has remained a faithful and dutiful member. She has served herchurch well in many areas, such as Sunday school teacher andMissionary Society, as well as other capacities. She is stillactive and attends church services on a regular basis. She is anactive person who enjoys going and doing what she can forothers.

God says in his holy words in Proverbs 3:1-2 (NIV) “… keep mycommands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many yearsand bring you prosperity.” And in Job 12:12 (NIV) he says, “Is notwisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bringunderstanding?”

On Sunday morning on April 11 during the 11 a.m. service, Mrs.Fairman was honored at Ebenezer by Pastor McKinzie and the churchfamily with a program to commemorate her 100th birthday, which wasThursday, April 15, 2010. There was a reception that followed inthe church fellowship hall. Everyone enjoyed the celebration verymuch, along with Mrs. Fairman and her family.

On the day of her birthday, Mrs. Fairman awakened early and startedher day, which included visiting the sick and shut-ins first. Hergranddaughter, Lorraine McArthur, from Birmingham, Ala., returnedhome to join her uncles, aunts and the family in a week ofcelebration and enjoying her grandmother during this greatmilestone in life. Lorraine stated that one of the highlights ofMrs. Alean’s week was to go and visit the sick and shut-in, thepeople who were not able to get out and visit her anymore. Later inthe evening the family gathered at the Golden Corral in McComb fordinner to celebrate her 100th birthday with many family members andfriends. There was much love and admiration shown to Mrs.Alean.

The Loyd Star community expresses happy birthday wishes to AleanFairman. You are an excellent role model for many and you haveinspired me tremendously. We salute you as an honorable warrior ofthe Loyd Star community. May God continue to bless and keep you andyour family.
