Carl Ellis Dixon

Services for Carl Ellis Dixon, of Hazlehurst, are 2 p.m. Wednesday,April 7, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with burial in the churchcemetery. The Rev. Ray Quinnelly will officiate. Stringer FamilyFuneral Home in Hazlehurst is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Wednesday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of theservice.

Mr. Dixon, 70, died April 4, 2010, at his residence

He retired from CN Railroad after 36 years of service. He was amember of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he was known as”Poppy” to the community and to his beloved grandchildren.

Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Rose Dixon; his sons, Dr.William Dixon and wife Stacy, of Bogue Chitto, and Mike Dixon andwife Carla, of Raymond; his brother, Louie Dixon, of Hazlehurst;his grandchildren, Thea Marie Dixon, Megan Lee Dixon, ClaireElizabeth Dixon, Madison Bailey Dixon, William Sutton Dixon, andCarley Regan Dixon.
