Services for Hollis Black, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Saturday,Nov. 28, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burial in thechurch cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 1 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuarywith family present from 6 until 7 p.m.
Mr. Black, 59, died Nov. 11, 2009, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on Aug. 1, 1950, to Revis Black Sr. and Ida MaeEdwards Black.
He was a 1968 graduate of Eva Harris High School and attendedAlcorn State University. He was self-employed as a cement finisher.He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mt.Olive M.B. Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, HerlonBlack; his sons, Hollis Black Jr. and Maurice Black; and adaughter, Sarah Jean Black.
Survivors are his wife, Clementine Leggett Black, of Brookhaven;his daughters, Estenna Markham and husband, Otis, of Greensboro,La., and Peggy Black and husband, Charlie, of Brookhaven; his sons,Markus Alvin Black and wife, Karnisha, of Hammond, La., and JamesBlack and wife, Denise, of Barlow; his brothers, Earl “E.C.” Blackand wife, Mattie, of Hazlehurst, and Revis Black Jr. and wife, Ada,of Brookhaven; a sister, Louvenia Henderson and husband, WillieLee, of Brookhaven; his seven grandchildren; and his many nieces,nephews and other relatives.
