Myrtle Buie
Services for Myrtle Buie, of Meadville, are 11 a.m. Saturday,Oct. 31, at Concord Baptist Church on Bogue Chitto Road with burialin the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9until 11 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. Buie, 93, passed from this life to her eternal home on Oct.29, 2009, at Silver Cross Home. She was born in McComb on Aug. 29,1916, to Edward L. Jetmore Sr. and Rebecca Byrd Jetmore.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Concord BaptistChurch.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John A.Buie; her sons, John E. Buie and Jack D. Buie; a sister, Mary V.Jones; a son-in-law, Roger Smith; her four grandsons, Billy JoeCarwyle, John E. Buie II, Dale Smith and Randall Calhoun; and hertwo great-great-grandchildren.
Survivors are her daughters, Juanita “Dee Die” Smith, ofBrookhaven, Margie Estes Carwyle, of Meadville, and Sue Whittingtonand husband, Jackie, of Gloster; a brother, Edward L. Jetmore Jr.,of Cherry Valley, Calif.; her daughters-in-law, Margaret Buie andPeggy Buie, both of Meadville; her 11 grandchildren, Ginny and MikeFurr, Andy Smith, Ronnie and Pam Carwyle, Ken and Lisa Carwyle,Sissy and Wayne Johnston, Marlon and Sheila Calhoun, Debra Magee,Becky and Jody Barton, Justin and Tammy Dawson, Tina and BenjiHolland and J.P. Whittington; her 31 great-grandchildren; her 21great-great-grandchildren; her five nephews; her three nieces; anda host of extended friends and family.

Services for William Larry Franklin, of Brookhaven, formerly ofNew Orleans, La., are 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Rose Hill M.B.Church in Brookhaven with burial in the church cemetery. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.
Mr. Franklin, 57, died Oct. 27, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Brookhaven on Feb. 5, 1952, to Luther Franklin Sr. and OraLee Putman Franklin.
He was a brick mason. He was a member of Rose Hill M.B.Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, LutherFranklin Jr., Charles E. Franklin and Tommie E. Franklin; and asister, Patricia Ann Franklin Washington.
Survivors are his sons, Theodric, of New Orleans, QuintonThompson, of Memphis, Tenn., and Steven Lenior, of Brookhaven; hissisters, Ada L. Rutledge, of Brookhaven, Mary Knox, of Brookhaven,Maxine Banks and husband, Leroy, of New Orleans, and Margie Gurley,of Houston, Texas; a very dear family friend, John Tyler, ofBrookhaven; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.
Mildred McCaffery Leggett
Services for Mildred McCaffery Leggett, of Brookhaven, formerlyof Bogue Chitto, are 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Calvary BaptistChurch in Bogue Chitto with burial in the church cemetery.Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is 5 p.m. Friday.
Mrs. Leggett, 80, died Oct. 29, 2009, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Bogue Chitto on Aug. 19,1929, to Benny McCaffery and Lula Wallace McCaffery.
She was a homemaker and former factory worker. She was a memberof Calvary Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, BarneyLeggett; her brothers, R.E. Russell, Homer and Jewell McCaffery; asister, Mary White; and a grandson, Shane Case.
Survivors are her sons, Jimmy Leggett and Johnny Leggett, bothof Bogue Chitto; a daughter, Brenda Case, of Bogue Chitto; herbrothers, Houston “Skeet” McCaffery, of Bogue Chitto, and Robert”Snow” McCaffery, of Wesson; a sister, Geraldine McCaffery, ofBogue Chitto; her four grandsons; and her sixgreat-grandchildren.
