Services for Wilbur Monette Sullivan were 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct.6, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville with burial inMidway Cemetery in Meadville. Pastor Emory May officiated.

Mr. Sullivan died Oct. 4, 2009, at his residence. He was born inBunkley on Oct. 21, 1940.

Wilbur Monette “Bo” Sullivan Jr. and Joey Richard Sullivan arethe sons of Wilbur Monette Sullivan, who is the son of Wilbur EliSullivan, who is the son of George “Pa” Stanton Sullivan, who isthe son William Luther Sullivan, who is the son of GeorgeWashington Sullivan, who is the son of Dennis Sullivan born inAugust 1790 in Georgia, who is the son of Mike O’Sullivan fromIreland.

Mr. Monette Sullivan worked 23 years at the Armstrong Tire andRubber Co. in Natchez. He retired from the Mississippi StateHighway Department. He married Linda Ruth King on Aug. 13, 1960.They had their first-born son Wilbur Monette “Bo” Sullivan Jr. onMarch 24, 1962, and their second-born son Joey Richard Sullivan onNov. 14, 1963.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Wilbur Eli Sullivan andSusan Annie Bankston Sullivan; and a sister, Virginia Ann SullivanRockhill.

Survivors are his sons, Wilbur Monette “Bo” Sullivan and JoeyRichard Sullivan; his sisters, Marshalene Sullivan Hazlip Gillespieand husband, Lee, and Gwen Sullivan Morehead; hisstep-grandchildren, Michael Seth Smith and James Lucas Smith andwife, Amanda; and his very special friend, Elizabeth Hawkins.

Pallbearers are Archie Campbell, Willie Campbell, Willie Havard,Larry Dickerson, Hilton Havard, Lesley Holland and Lucas Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are Justin May, Austin May, Ricky King,Bill Daniels and Terry Middleton.
