Services for the Rev. Bobby J. Hudson, of Brookhaven, are 10a.m. Friday, July 24, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Brookhavenwith burial in White House Cemetery in Clara at 2:30 p.m.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service.

The Rev. Hudson, 71, died July 22, 2009, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Dec. 7, 1937,to Ellis Julius Hudson and Alifair L. Lucas Hudson.

He was a retired ordained Baptist pastor. The Rev. Hudson servedin the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1974; including service in theVietnam War. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. The Rev.Hudson was a part of “The Greatest Generation Coffee Club,”American Legion Mississippi Post No. 0012, Veterans of Foreign Warsof the U.S. Post No. 2618; and a Mason in State Line. He was alsochaplain for 11 years at Maynor Creek Water Park in Waynesboro.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ellis and AlifairHudson; his first wife, Betty L. Hudson; his infant children, DebraG. Hudson and Robert Hudson; and his brothers, Gilbert and WilbertHudson.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Martha Hudson; a son, Bobby DavidHudson; a daughter, Shelia Byers; his stepsons, Kent Smith, JimboSmith and Tony Smith; a stepdaughter, Judy Ballard; his brothers,Luther Hudson and E.J. Hudson; his sisters, Jetty Vanosdol, HazelBrewer and Faye Douglas; his 14 grandchildren; and agreat-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American CancerAssociation, the American Heart Association, the Mississippi OrganRecovery Agency or Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children inJackson.
