Services for Roger Bruce Foster, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Tuesday, June 30, at First Baptist Church Brookhaven with burial inArlington Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.
Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive and Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at thechurch.
Mr. Foster, 49, died June 26, 2009, suddenly at his residence.He was born in Brookhaven on April 27, 1960, to Tera Lee Foster andWilmer Eugene Foster.
Bruce was a member of First Baptist Church Brookhaven. He wasowner/operator of Foster’s Construction. He spent his life in theBrookhaven area serving his community. Bruce’s meticulouscraftsmanship was evident in every job he undertook. Bruce servedas assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 911 of First Baptist ChurchBrookhaven for many years. He took every opportunity to help hisfriends and family. He loved serving others and was trusted andloved by everyone he touched. Above all, Bruce was a devoted,loving, Christian husband and father. He loved his familyunconditionally and always put them first and himself last. Hisfamily will remember his special smile and laugh.
Preceding him in death were his father, Wilmer Eugene Foster; aninfant son, Daniel Christopher Foster; a brother, Keith Foster; anda brother-in-law, Jimmy Furlow.
Survivors are his mother, Tera Lee Foster; his wife, BrendaMontgomery Foster, of Brookhaven; his sons, Matthew and MichaelFoster, both of Brookhaven; a daughter, Carrie Luster and husband,Jimmy, of Brandon; a sister, Sheila Furlow, of Brookhaven; hisbrothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Stacey and Debbie Smith, ofBrookhaven, and David and Kathy Montgomery, of Taylorsville; afather-in-law, N.G. “Sonny” Montgomery; his nephews, Adam Furlow,Joshua Smith and Jonathan Smith, all of Brookhaven, and Henry DavidMontgomery, of Taylorsville; and his nieces, Kayla Furlow, LeahByrd, both of Brookhaven, and Ali Montgomery, of Wesson.
