Memorial services for Ruth L. Putman, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Sunday, April 19, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NorthJackson Street with burial in Nations Memorial Cemetery in LincolnCounty.

Mrs. Putman, 100, died March 24, 2009, at Haven Hall HealthcareCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Stillwater, N.Y., on Nov. 29,1908, to William R. Putman and Bertha E. Farwell Putman.

She retired as a nurse assistant at the University of VirginiaHospital. She was of Methodist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Thomas Wantce;and a daughter, Connie Meadows.

Survivors are a son, William “Bill” Putman Schultze, ofFredericksburg, Va.; and a daughter, Barbara Mitchell, of GlenAllen, Va.
