Deston Blade Rayburn, 6, of Ruth, passed away Feb. 13, 2009, inHouma, La., due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Jones FamilyFuneral Services in McComb with visitation again Saturday from 9a.m. until services at New Life Apostolic Church in Summit at 11a.m. The Revs. Marc Rutland and Kenneth Patten and Bro. StaceyRayburn will officiate. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.
Deston was born Dec. 26, 2002, in Brookhaven. He was the son ofJoseph R. Rayburn and Tiffany Champagne.
Deston was homecoming king this year for his school, EnterpriseAttendance Center, in Ruth. His family said he loved to fish andloved to go to the camp with his “Nanna and PaPa.” He also loved togo to Sunday school. He will be sadly missed by his family andfriends.
Deston is preceded in death by his father; hisgreat-grandfathers, Jose Illescas and Prentiss Hall; agreat-grandmother, Maria Luiss Peineds; his three uncles, CarlRayburn Jr., Richard and Ronnie Hall; one aunt, Yvonne Hall; andone cousin, Jessilyn Rayburn.
Survivors include his mother, Tiffany Champagne; hisgrandparents, Herbert and Vickie Turner, Freddy and Vickie Busby,all of Ruth, and Allen and Diana Champagne, of Laplace, La.; hisgreat-grandparents, Carl and Marion Rayburn Sr., of Ruth, MayBatard and Dorothy Upton, both of Reserve, La.; his aunts anduncles, Torrie and Marc Rutland, of Larto, La., Tracy Billiot, ofJayess, Jeremy Rayburn, of Ruth, Stacey Rayburn and Misty, of Ruth,Nicole and Frankie Cannon, of Ruth, Bubba Reeves, T.J. Reeves,Justin Scherer, Jessica Scherer, Elizabeth Champagne, NicoleWhittington, Candy Rayburn and Jennifer House and numerouscousins.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Billiot, Jeremy Rayburn, StaceyRayburn, Marc Rutland, T.J. Reeves and Hebert Turner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Rutland, Lane Rutland, DaltonBilliot, Kelly Rayburn, Kaylee Rayburn, Andrez Falgout and BubbaReeves.
