Stanley Alcus Catt
Services for Stanley Alcus Catt, of Monticello, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Nov. 22, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMonticello Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Wilson FuneralHome.
Mr. Catt, 75, died Nov. 19, 2008, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. He was born in Lawrence County on Oct. 22, 1933, to JohnPreston Catt and Bertie Johnson Catt.
Mr. Catt was born and reared in Lawrence County and livedbriefly in Yazoo City, Greenville and Brookhaven before returningin 1966 to open the Icee store in Monticello. He was the retiredowner of the store. He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church inMonticello.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, DaphneMoody Catt.
Survivors are his sons, John Catt and wife, Tracy, ofMonticello, and James Catt, of Louisville; a brother, Charles Catt,of Monticello; a sister, Carolyn Carney, of Monticello; his fivegrandchildren, John Douglas, Anna, Mary Harden, Sarah and WillPreston.
David Franklin Cupit
Services for David Franklin Cupit, of Union Church, are 3 p.m.Friday, Nov. 21, at Union Church Baptist Church in Jefferson Countywith burial in Union Church Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m at the church.
Mr. Cupit, 59, died Nov. 18, 2008, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas, onApril 16, 1949, to Herman Cupit Sr. and Arlea Goza Cupit.
He worked with Southwest EPA for 35 years and was also acattleman. He was a Mason. He was a member of Union Church BaptistChurch, where he served as a deacon.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Doylene Tennyson Cupit, of Union Church;his sons, Nathan Cupit and wife, Kim, of Union Church, and BradCupit and wife, Amy, of Brookhaven; his daughters, Shannan Porterand husband, Jeff, of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, Herman Cupit Jr. andwife, Joyce, of Nashville, Tenn.; his father-in-law, Doyle Tennysonand wife, Ruth, of Ackerman; a sister-in-law, Arlena Amos, ofMadison; his seven grandchildren, Logan Porter, Jordan Porter, AbbyPorter, Kyle Cupit, Kassidy Cupit, Emily Delozier and Tyler Cupit;and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives.

Services for Virginia “Jenny” Norwood, of Monticello, are 2 p.m.Sunday, Nov. 23, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMonticello Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation is Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Wilson FuneralHome.
Mrs. Norwood, 72, died Nov. 20, 2008, at her daughter’s home inMarion, Va.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Thomas E. Norwood.
Survivors are a son, Tony Norwood and wife, Pam, of Monticello;a daughter, Pam Hastings and husband, Steve, of Marion; a sister,Anna Lampton, of Pensacola, Fla.; her grandchildren, Jason Ready,Hunter Hastings, Boone Hastings, Chris Baker, Jason Baker, MistyNorwell and husband, Jeremiah, Tony Norwood and wife, Nikki; and ahost of nieces and nephews.
