Services for Dewey King, of Jayess, are 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3,at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello with burial in Robert’sMemorial Cemetery in Jayess.
Mr. King, 90, died Oct. 1, 2008, at his residence. He was bornin Lawrence County on April 2, 1918, to William Elisha King andMaggie Ballard King.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. Heserved in China, Burma, India and Korea as a technical sergeant. Hewas a member of Tilton United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Kirk King; and asister, Tera King Griffith.
Survivors are his wife, D’Emory “Dee” Bickley King; his sons,Glenn King, Gary King, Bruce King, Stacey King, all of Jayess; adaughter, Cindy King Wilson, of Sontag; his brothers, Clell King,of Brookhaven, Arthur King, of Monticello, Elzin King, of New Zion,and Carl King, of Monticello; his sisters, Ruth Smith, of New Zion,and Faye Lambert, of Monticello; his nine grandchildren; his fivegreat-grandchildren.
