Services for Freddie Lamar Godbolt Jr., of Dallas, Texas, are 2p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Center Street Church of Christ inBrookhaven with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 5 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mr. Godbolt, 61, formerly of Brookhaven, died Sept. 24, 2008, atMethodist-Charlton Medical Center in Dallas. He was born inChicago, Ill., on Aug. 2, 1947, to Freddie Lamar Godbolt Sr. andMyrtis Smith Godbolt.

He graduated from Hyde Park High School in Chicago. He wasdisabled. He was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ inDallas.

Preceding him in death were his father; a sister, PatriciaArcher; and a grandmother, A.D. Green.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth Godbolt, of Dallas; his mother,Myrtis Smith Godbolt, of Chicago; his sons, D’Angelo Thompson, ofNew York City, Andre Thompson and Terrick Godbolt, both of Dallas;his daughters, Iris Jackson and Robin Vaughn, both of Chicago; hisbrothers, Charles Godbolt, of Brookhaven, and Samuel Godbolt, ofChicago; his sisters, Willie Pearl Bullock, of Brookhaven, and AnnGodbolt, of Matteson, Ill.; and his six grandchildren.
