Laura Lurline Baker

A memorial service for Laura Lurline Baker, of Brookhaven, willbe held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at Easthaven Baptist Churchin Brookhaven. Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Baker, 48, died March 29, 2008, at Select SpecialtyHospital in Jackson. She was born in Hattiesburg on Aug. 7, 1959,to Walter W. Shields and Mary Lurline Shields.

She was the owner of L & E Enterprises Trucking Co. and amember of Easthaven Baptist Church.

Survivors are her parents; her husband, Elmer James Baker, ofBrookhaven; her son, Kerry Allen Loveless, of Apple Valley, Calif.;her daughter, Jennifer Michelle Koopman, of Victorville, Calif.;and one grandchild.

Sharon Ruth Leggett

Services for Sharon Ruth Leggett, of Brookhaven, were held onSunday, March 30, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel.

Mrs. Leggett, 49, died March 28, 2008, at her residence. She wasborn on Aug. 2, 1958, to Aaron Tremon McCullar and Norma JeanHickman.

She was the branch office administrator at Edward Jones for 121/2 years. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was amember of the Brookhaven Chapter No. 1 Order of the Eastern Star. Aformer ambassador of the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber ofCommerce, she was honored as an Ambassador of the Year. She was anavid Harley-Davidson fan and loved riding her own Harley with herhusband.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her maternalgrandparents, John B. Oxford and Ruth Oxford; her paternalgrandparents, Aaron T. McCullar and Augusta McCullar; and herfather-in-law, Frank E. Leggett.

Survivors are her husband, Frank E. “Bub” Leggett, ofBrookhaven; her sons, Christopher M. Leggett and wife Erika, ofBrookhaven, and Brian Garrett, of Chester, Va.; her daughter,Tiffany Smith and fiance Randy Bowman, of Brookhaven; her brothers,John W. McCullar and wife Carrie, of Dayton, Texas, and MitchellHickman Jr., of Irondale, Ala.; her sisters, Marie Daniels andhusband Milton, and Carol Evans and husband Kenneth, all ofBrookhaven; her brother-in-law, James Leggett and wife Tracey, ofBrookhaven; her sister-in-law, Becky Murray and husband Marty, ofRipley; her mother-in-law, Opal H. Leggett, of Brookhaven; and herseven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American CancerSociety or the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.

Carnell McRee

A graveside service for Carnell McRee, of Hazlehurst, will beheld at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at Pine Bluff Cemetery inDentville. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. McRee, 78, died March 29, 2008, at Hardy Wilson MemorialHospital in Hazlehurst.

Mr. McRee was a native and lifelong resident of Copiah Countyexcept for the time he served in the United States Army during theKorean Conflict. He was a cattleman and a member of Pine BluffBaptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, a sister and adaughter, Carolyn Jones.

Survivors are his wife, Edwina King McRee; his daughter, PamCarroll of Brookhaven; his sister, Evelyn Dennis of Pearl; hisgrandchildren, Julie Heriad Culpepper and husband Lan, of Meridian,and Stephen E. Carroll II, of Brookhaven; his great-grandchildren,Myles Culpepper and Katie Grace Culpepper; and numerous nieces andnephews.

Dennis Murphy Montgomery

Services for Dennis Murphy Montgomery, of Brookhaven, will beheld at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at Brookhaven Funeral Home onNatchez Drive, with burial in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery inFranklin County.

Visitation was held on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Montgomery, 80, died March 29, 2008, at Silver Cross NursingHome. He was born in Franklin County on April 26, 1927, to EffieMontgomery and Lizzie Davis Montgomery.

He was a retired carpenter and cabinetmaker. He was a member ofRamah Baptist Church in Franklin County.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of 33 years,Eva Pearl Williamson Montgomery; his two brothers and foursisters.

Survivors are his sons, Tarry Montgomery and wife Daphne, andGarry Montgomery and wife Elisa, all of McCall Creek; hisdaughters, Shelia Skelton and husband Ron, and Dymple Brown andhusband Dale, all of Brookhaven; his sister, Christine Smith, ofNatchez; his grandchildren, Kevin Skelton, Tera Skelton Smith, BradBrown, Austin Davis, Grant Montgomery, Jordan Montgomery and JaxonMontgomery; and his great-grandchildren, Alexis Cummins, GunnerSmith, Braylei Skelton Steele and Macey Skelton Steele.
