Wesson crushes Mize

MIZE – The Wesson Cobras swept 4 games from the Mize BulldogsThursday night in basketball action.
In the boys game, Wesson’s Cody King Fired in 18 points, grabbed4 rebounds, made 2 steals and had 3 assists in leading the Cobrasto a 62-43 win over the Bulldogs.
Girls action saw the Cobras muzzled the Bulldogs 56-21, poweredby Ann Shelby Davis’ 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 4assists.
Junior high saw the Wesson boys dump Mize 37-25 and the LadyCobras crush the Lady Bulldogs 32-15.
Wesson sees action in the Hillcrest Tournament beginning Mondaywith the Lady Cobras meeting Leake at 6:15 p.m. The Wesson boysplay Tuesday at 7:45 against Leake.
Wesson 62, Mize 43
The Cobras improved to 5-1 on the season with the win.
“The guys played unselfishly,” said Wesson boys coach RonKessler.
Adding support in the Wesson win with 15 points was LonnieReeves. Josh Hart pulled down 12 rebounds, blocked 6 shots and made3 steals. Following with 12 rebounds and 5 steals was MatthewCliburn.
Chase Smith led Mize with 12 points.
Wesson 56, Mize 21
The Cobras, under Coach Hugh Webb, improved to 5-3 with thewin.
Macie Case fired in 13 points and made 3 steals. Leah Greerfinished with 9 points. Pulling down 6 rebounds was KimmieKolpeck.
Netting 12 points for Mize was Carson Rucker.
Junior high action
In Wesson’s 37-25 win over Mize, Paxton Cupit, Kendrick Bailey,Terry Brown and Cory Skinner led with 7 points apiece.
Madison Rials’ 12 points powered the Wesson girls 32-15 victoryover Mize.
