Services for Huey Ray Smith, of Brookhaven, will be held at 2p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Community Funeral Services Chapel withburial in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. Smith, 65, died Nov. 21, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 21, 1941, to ThomasM. Smith and Vergie Walker Smith.

He was a logger with Georgia-Pacific.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his son, Timmy R.Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Sammie Smith, of Loyd Star; his son,Terry J. Smith, of Loyd Star; his brothers, Gary Thomas Smith andRandel Smith, both of Loyd Star, and Louis King, of Florence; hisone grandchild and one great-grandchild.
