Lady Bears bite Enterprise

Senior center Talashia Fells pumped in 13 points and grabbed 8rebounds Tuesday night in leading the host West Lincoln Lady Bearsto a 55-26 season-opening win over the Enterprise Lady YellowJackets in Jack Case Gymnasium.
In the junior varsity girls game, Karla Hux fired in 11 pointsto power Enterprise to a 32-18 victory over West Lincoln.
Caroleah Brister’s 15 points sparked the Jackets to a 38-21junior high girls win over the Bears.
The West Lincoln boys teams play Enterprise Saturday, beginningat 1 p.m. with the seventh grade, followed by the junior high,junior varsity and varsity games.
West Lincoln 55, Enterprise 26
“It’s good to start off with a win and play everyone,” said WestLincoln girls coach Lane Young. “We were able to score off of ourdefense. We were glad to finally get to play instead of practicing.We were ready to play.”
The Bears (1-0) opened the first quarter with a 15-2 lead overthe Jackets. At halftime, West Lincoln commanded a 31-7 lead.
“We did not play as well as I know we can,” said Enterprisegirls coach Jill Nations. “We had too many turnovers. We did notrebound.”
At the end of the third quarter, the Bears dominated the Jackets42-16.
Contributing to the West Lincoln win with 12 points, 3 reboundsand 2 steals was Julie Case. Hannah Knouse netted 9 points, grabbed4 rebounds, made 3 steals and had 2 assists.
Tara Paden led Enterprise (1-1) with 10 points and pulled down 5rebounds.
Enterprise 32, West Lincoln 18
In JV play, Sarah Burke netted 7 points for Enterprise.
West Lincoln got 8 points from Kristen Hall.
Enterprise 38, West Lincoln 21
Marisa Pruski’s 11 points led the Bears in junior highaction.
The Jackets got 15 points from Caroleah Brister.
