The contract was more than the $111,936 estimate provided by thedistrict’s architects, Williford, Gearhart and Knight, Inc., butSuperintendent Terry Brister said it was a “good” bid.
“That includes all curbing, all markings and resurfacing underneathbefore they pave it,” he said.
The bid from Dickerson and Bowen, Inc. of Brookhaven was one ofonly two received for the project.
Brister could not say when the actual work would begin.
The superintendent also updated board members on the progress of a$1.9 million project to construct a new 12-classroom building atEnterprise Attendance Center.
The building will be located in the same place where classes havebeen held in temporary structures for the past few years.
The area has been fenced off for the beginning of infrastructurework, such as plumbing, Brister said.
Construction crews from Paul Jackson and Son, Inc., should beginworking on the building soon, the superintendent said, and willwork within the limits of when school is out of session to avoiddisturbing students.
