Leroy Bracey
Services for Leroy Bracey were held on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007,at Temple of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, withinterment in Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside, Ill.
Mr. Bracey, 80, died Aug. 6, 2007, at Holy Family Medical Centerin Des Plaines, Ill.
Mr. Bracey was born in Bogue Chitto to Henry Bracey and LulaStowball Bracey on May 18, 1927. He devoted his life to JesusChrist at a very early age and became a member of Christian HillMissionary Baptist Church.
He attended Lincoln County Training School in Bogue Chitto untilhe was drafted in his senior year to serve in the United StatesArmy. He was positioned with the 3759th Quarter Master TruckCompany in Germany. During World War II, he served from Aug. 10,1945, to Dec. 26, 1946.
Leroy was half a credit from receiving his high school diplomawhen he was drafted. In 2000, the Lincoln County School Boardawarded him with a high school diploma.
Leroy married Eloise Sutton on Feb. 7, 1948, in Bogue Chitto.They gave birth to four children. In 1951, the family moved toChicago, Ill., and later bore three more children. Leroy and hisfamily united with True Right Missionary Church.
He was employed with Stanadyne and Company, Inc., for 31 yearsuntil he retired. At the age of 62, he worked part-time in securityfor two years, earning a certificate in law enforcement.
In 1989, Leroy and Eloise returned to their home in BogueChitto, and joined Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, servingunder the Rev. and Mrs. Pittman. Leroy served as chairman of thedeacon board, superintendent of Sunday school, and worked in thefinancial office.
After returning to Chicago in 2007, Leroy joined Temple of FaithMissionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev. andMrs. Giles.
Leroy was preceded in death by both parents; one child; fourbrothers; and two sisters.
Leroy’s memories will eternally remain with his loving wife,Eloise; two sons, Alan and Everett (Audrey); four daughters,Jacquelyne (Bobby), Brenda, Beverly and Bridget (James); hisbrother, Matthew Bracey; his sister, Lula Bracey Dillon; 15grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;and let’s not forget Rock Bracey; with a special mention to alongtime friend, Y.T. Kyle; and a host of other relatives andfriends.
Rachel Helena Aquino Peavey
Rachel Helena Aquino Peavey, died on Aug. 4, 2007, in Torrance,Calif. She was born in Beaver Falls, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Peavey; andgreat-grandchildren, Samantha Jane Liebsack and Jack RyanLiebsack.
Survivors are her sisters, Lillian and Mae; her daughters, Janie(George) Liebsack, Cecilia (Fritz) Voight, Helena (Ronald) Watsonand Rochelle (Steven) Madrigal; her sister-in-law, Bernice Smith,of Brookhaven; her eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; andone great-great-granddaughter.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Thefamily requests that if you would like to send flowers, send themto someone special in your life and think of Mrs. Peavey.

Capt. Robert L. Smith Sr.
Services for Capt. Robert L. Smith Sr., of Pineville, La., are10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at The Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints with Bishop Roger LaCaze officiating, under thedirection of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, La.
Visitation is Tuesday at Hixson Brothers from 5 until 9 p.m.Additional visitation will be Wednesday, at The Church of JesusChrist of Latter Day Saints, at Red Star Ward in Mississippi at 3p.m. Services will be held at 4 p.m., under the direction ofBrookhaven Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith, 66, died Aug. 19, 2007, at Christus St. FrancesCabrini Hospital.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter DaySaints, a retired captain with the United States Air Force; aretired Rapides Parish School teacher and owner of Alpine PianoService.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Helen MasonSmith; his daughter, Connie Yvette Smith; and his sister, CharlotteMikel.
Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Ramona Smith; his sons,Bradley L. Smith and wife Joy, LCDR Spencer Smith and wife Juana,SSG Joel Smith and wife, Evon and Robert Smith Jr. and wifeMichelle; his brother, Sherrod Smith; and his ninegrandchildren.

Donald H. Wright
Services for Donald H. Wright, of Silver Creek, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello withburial in Roberts Memorial Cemetery in Jayess.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Wright, 65, died Aug. 20, 2007, at his residence. He wasborn in Memphis, Tenn., on May 27, 1942, to Hubert E. Wright andAnn Hall Wright.
He was an industrial worker with B&M Chemical Co., inHattiesburg. He loved to play the piano for family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Wright, of Silver Creek; hisbrother, Terry Wright, of Tampa, Fla.; and his sisters, GayleRaymond, of Maryland, and Faith Wright, of Carthage.
