School board appoints Greer as new Wesson Principal

A well-seasoned educator and coach has been appointed as thehead administrator at Wesson Attendance Center after the retirementof the current principal.

Ronald Greer has been appointed Wesson Attendance CenterPrincipal after 12 years in service to the school.

“I feel fortunate and blessed to have this opportunity and I lookforward to doing this work with the Lord’s help,” said Greer.

School officials say Greer is taking the torch from Principal BillyBritt, who is retiring after 37 years in education.

Greer joined the Wesson faculty in 1995 as a head football coachand history teacher, and in 2000 was promoted to assistantprincipal.

In 2003, he was promoted again to High School Principal.

Greer said his experience with the school system has been a goodone so far, and that he is proud of the school that he will beserving.

“We’ve got a really good school system here, and we want tocontinue to improve,” he said. “We don’t want to be satisfied to bewhere we are, and we don’t want to rest on our laurels. We’re veryproud of this school and we want to continue to press on.”

Greer said one reason he feels so blessed to have been appointed tothe new position is that he is working with a staff in whom he hasgreat faith.

“I’m inheriting a great staff here,” he said. “They’re reallyprofessional and care a lot about our kids. I’m the one who’sblessed to be able to serve in this position.”
