Charles E. Miller
Services for Charles E. Miller, of Sioux City, Iowa, wereFriday, Dec. 22, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City,with the Rev. R. Paul Johnston officiating. Burial was in LoganPark Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Colonial Funeral Home was in chargeof arrangements.
Mr. Miller, 60, died Dec. 18, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn in Brookhaven on May 28, 1946, to Joe Baby Miller and AllieMae Patterson-Miller. He had resided in Sioux City for the pasteight years.
He was employed with Woodbury County, in Sioux City. He attendedAlexander High School in Brookhaven and had some trade schooltraining in St. Louis, Mo. He was baptized and a member of TrinityLutheran Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his grandparents, Tomand Josephine Miller, and Lafayette and Cora Patterson; hisgreat-grandparents, Hardy and Sally Leggett; a sister, Josie MaeMiller-Smith; a brother, Joe B. Miller Jr.; a nephew, Donald RayMiller; and a niece, Daphane Miller.
Survivors are his daughter, Sherry D. Gayten, of Huntsville,Ala.; his sisters, Edna L. Ellis-Singh, of Iselin, N.J., and NadineGutter, of Chicago, Ill.; his grandchildren, Shameka Miller andArthur Miller, both of Brookhaven; his nephews, Dale R. Ellis, ofBrookhaven, Andre Smith, of Baton Rouge, La., Roderick Smith, ofSt. Louis, Mo., Robert Gutter Jr. and Richard Gutter, both ofChicago; his niece, Victoria E. Busch, of St. Louis; hisgreat-niece and great-nephew, Khajdesha Ellis and Thomisco Ellis;his mentor, George Boykin; and a host of other relatives andfriends.
Robbie Dell Smith
Services for Robbie Dell Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Brookhaven Funeral Home, North JacksonStreet, with burial in New Salem Church of Christ Cemetery inBrookhaven.
Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Miss Smith, 85, died Jan. 7, 2007, at Brookmanor Nursing Home.She was born in Lincoln County on July 20, 1921, to Robert FultonSmith and Delle Storm Smith.
She was retired from King’s Daughters Hospital after 19 years ofservice. She was a member of New Salem Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, JimStewart Smith, Cammie Smith, Hulon Smith, Paul Butler Smith; hersisters, Allie Smith, Lucille Parker and Florine Breazele.
Survivors are her sister, Jean Smith, of Wesson; hersister-in-law, Wessie Smith, of Brookhaven; and many nieces andnephews.
Bobby Joe Woods
Services for Bobby Joe Woods, of Wesson, are 1 p.m. Wednesday,Jan. 10, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial inSylvarena Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson.
Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Woods, 66, died Jan. 8, 2007, at his residence. He was bornon Sept. 3, 1940, to Henry O. Woods and Ella D. Woods.
He was the retired owner/operator of a trucking company. He wasa member of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Susan R.Woods; his sister, Joyce Ann Baker; and his granddaughter, AmandaJoe Purser.
Survivors are his sons, Robert Thomas Ainsworth, of Florence,and Jessie F. Watts III and wife Amber, of Cedar Bluff; hisdaughters, Jan Hutson and husband Randy, of Wesson, Christy W.Cape, of Mendenhall, Billie Jean Culbreath and husband William, ofQuillian, Texas, and Renee Russell, of Brandon; his brothers, BillyWoods, Henry Woods and Johnny Woods, all of Batesville; hissisters, Lena Davis, of Jena, La., Virginia Culbreath, of WillsPoint, Texas, and Bonnie Albritton, of Batesville; his threegrandchildren and one great-grandchild.
