Man hurt in hunting accident

A man was shot in the leg early Saturday afternoon in LincolnCounty while hunting with family members, according to lawenforcement authorities.
Sheriff Steve Rushing said he did not have a lot of informationon the case because it was being handled by the Department ofWildlife, Fisheries and Game, but could confirm a man was injuredby a gunshot.
Game officials were unavailable for comment Saturday.
Rushing said information he had received indicated at least twomembers of a family had been out hunting around 12:30 a.m. Saturdayand one brother had shot another in the leg. The injury was notserious.
The incident should serve as a reminder to others to beextremely vigilant when hunting, the sheriff said.
Saturday’s incident is one of more than a handful ofhunting-related injuries in the state since gun season opened fordeer on Nov. 17.
