Wolves sweep Trojans

SUMMIT — Co-Lin sophomore forward Greg Truvillion fired in 23points, pulled down 14 rebounds and block 4 shots to spark theWolves to a 73-51 victory over the Mississippi Delta Trojans in thefinal day of the Southwest Tournament. The night before againstNorthwest, Truvillion powered the Wolves with 34 points and 13rebounds.

In women’s action, sophomore guard Nikki Williams pumped in 16points to direct Co-Lin to a 70-47 victory over the LadyTrojans.

In the other tournament games, the Southwest women clippedNorthwest 68-64 and the Northwest men dumped Southwest 88-82.

Co-Lin travels to Clarksdale to meet Coahoma Monday night fortwo games. The Wolves’ first home game is Thursday, Nov. 9, withHolmes invading Mullen Gymnasium. The women ‘s game begins at 6p.m. followed by the men.

Co-Lin 73, Miss. Delta 51

“We seemed a little bit sharper,” said Co-Lin men’s head coachDennis Sims. “Delta was physically drained.”

At the half, Co-Lin lead Miss. Delta 36-25.

“Truvillion had a good game,” added Sims. “Defensively, weplayed a solid second half. “

Adding support to the Wolves’ win were Corey London with 12points and Christian Marshall 10.

“It was a good win,” added Sims.

Miss. Delta (0-2) got18 points from Antonio Taylor.

Co-Lin 70, Miss. Delta 47

Coach Gwyn Young’s Lady Wolves (2-0) took the lead early in thegame and never relinquished it. At halftime, Co-Lin led Miss. Delta32-20.

Contributing to the Co-Lin win with 11 points was sophomoreforward Erica Trahan with 6 rebounds. Kristian McCray grabbed sixrebounds and blocked 3 shots. Blocking 2 shots was AlishaMason.

For winless Miss. Delta, Lashundreya Townsend and TawonnaMarshall scored 11 points apiece.
