Services for Thomas Bynum, of Brookhaven, formerly of NewOrleans, are 11 a.m. Friday, July 28, at Della Green M.B. Church inBrookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Williams Mortuary isin charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m.
Mr. Bynum, 84, died July 24, 2006, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital. He was born on March 2, 1922, to Dunk Bynum andSeland Bynum.
He was a retired truck driver. He attended the Woodville PublicSchools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He wasaffiliated with the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, HowardPalmer and Sam Bynum; and his sisters, Cornela Stirgus and EstelleMonroe.
Survivors are his daughter, Brenda Parker, of Brookhaven; hisnieces, Shirley Durrah, of Detroit, Mich., and Sarah Wilson, ofChicago, Ill.; his nephews, Sam Bynum Jr., of New Orleans, La.,Johnny Monroe and Sam Monroe, both of Chicago, and Woodrow Monroe,of Woodville; his five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, andmany great-nieces, nephews and other relatives.
