Law enforcement officers are investigating a strong arm robberythat was reported early Thursday morning after the victim soughttreatment at King’s Daughters Medical Center, authorities said.

“It didn’t actually happen at the hospital, but it was reportedthere,” said Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department Maj. DustinBairfield.

According to Bairfield, the victim said he was attacked onGaston Trail and hit over the head with an object. The victim didnot immediately report the crime, but went to the hospital’semergency room to get treatment for a cut on his head.

The hospital notified the sheriff’s department of the incidentat 2:21 a.m., Bairfield said.

“The incident is under investigation and I can’t release a lotof information right now,” he said.

Bairfield would not say how much money or whether any items weretaken during the robbery. However, a suspect has been identifiedand deputies are seeking the man for questioning, he said.
