Dear Editor,

During the recent holiday travel, my sister, brother-in-law,

and their infant daughter – 13 days from her first birthday, were traveling northbound on Interstate-55 in southern Mississippi, just north of the Louisiana state line. While at a rest area, theywere forced from their vehicle at gunpoint and carjacked. Theoffender later totaled the vehicle on a country road, killinghimself and an innocent motorist.

During the carjacking, after my sister, brother-in-law, andniece were forced from the vehicle, and as the criminal was aboutto speed away, my sister asked if she could get the family dog fromthe back seat. Her request was denied, and the offender sped awaywith Gabby, the family dog strapped into her

“seat belt” harness.

Later at the scene of the accident, the harness was foundunclamped, and there was no sign of Gabby.

I am asking you to help this terrorized family reunite with theirfamily pooch. We are hoping that possibly the offender let the dogout at some point. This happened near Magnolia, Miss., around 7:30p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve.

Our concern is that Gabby is an indoor dog. She is small, has longbrown and white hair (white neck and belly). She has a long slimsnout. I do not think she is wearing a collar, and she does nothave ID tags on. Gabby is very shy! She prefers women tomen.

She will not approach people and will probably run away from them. But she may be desperate and could be bribed with food.

Please help us return this pooch to her family. Please contact mevia e-mail at laura_bundy@excite.com or at (704) 437-3339. I amhelping my family members with this matter. They are still shakenup about all of this, and I wanted to try to help find theirdog.

Please, please, please.
