Dear Editor:

This letter is being sent to thank the people of Brookhaven andBogue Chitto who helped me get sheets, towels, blankets andsleeping bags to the towns of Waveland and Picayune. We sent fivetruck and trailer loads of supplies to them before FEMA or the RedCross found them. Each time I got a call, I called churches nearby, and the response was great.

So a special thanks to Bethel Baptist, Calvary Baptist, MountPleasant and Montgomery Baptist in Bogue Chitto. I also came to theLincoln Plaza Shopping Center and put out a call on B92 radio thatI was collecting items in the parking lot. People were skeptical ofa person calling instead of a group. So I asked Mr. Sid Sasser atSears if he would call for me, and he did. So another specialthanks to him and Gay Laird.

A motorist in a gas line named Annie gave me a sleeping bag fromher car. So when she did, several people followed suit. Thanks,Annie.

Last but not least, I went to the eye doctor in McComb to pickup my new glasses and was talking to the nurse there, and shecalled me the following week to say her church wanted to help. Theyput together a truckload of new items. So thank you also to SaulsValley Baptist Church.

Thank you to all who gave of their time and resources. So littlecan mean so much. Please remember to keep praying, and may Godbless each one who had a hand in this.

Janet Johnson,

Brookhaven
