Brown powers Lady Bobcats over Lady Jackets

Meleah Brown’s triple and three singles helped the visitingBogue Chitto Lady Bobcats to a 16-2 Division 7-1A win over theEnterprise Lady Yellow Jackets Thursday night in slowpitch softballaction.
“We hit the ball well tonight,” said Bogue Chitto softball coachScott Leggett. “We had two good innings at the start and moved ourbase runners. We have to continue playing like this for theremainder of the season.”
Bogue Chitto improved to 19-2 on the season and 9-0 in districtplay.
Chelsey Miller tipped a double and two singles for Bogue Chitto.Candace Avants singled three times. Collecting a pair of singleseach were Jessie Miller and Kelli Howard. Doubling were LatoyaBraxton, Dori Hall and Caitlin Owen. Devon Welch singled.
For Enterprise, Kacy Rutland doubled. Hitting safely wereLindsey Everett, Whitney Kyzar and Katie Hux.
Braxton was the winning pitcher with one walk. Amanda Priceabsorbed the loss with two strikeouts and two walks.
Junior varsity
Bogue Chitto (10-2) also won the JV game by a score of 6-2 overEnterprise. Christinna May posted the win, striking out one batterand walking five.
Megan Roberts smashed a home run for the Bobcats. Holly Millersingled twice. Darcy Miller, Blaine Myers, Amanda Owen, HannahHolmes and Laren Crosby singled.
Bogue Chitto plays Saturday in the Brookhaven Tournament.
