Services for Charlie “Chuck” Shelby Jr., of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at St. Paul M.B. Church with burial inGarden Memorial Park in Jackson.
Visitation is today from noon until 6 p.m. at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome.
Mr. Shelby, 69, died Aug. 30, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Feb. 8, 1936, to Charlie Shelby Sr. andBeatrice Ellis Shelby.
He was a retired former supervisor at Delphi Packard. He workedat Jackson Plating Co. a number of years and was self employed withShelby Brass Works. He was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church wherehe was president of the male chorus, superintendent of the Sundayschool, a deacon and a member of the mass choir.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Arlean Tarrio Shelby, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Valerie Shelby Sterling, of Brookhaven, Eunice ShelbyDavis, of Madison, and Linda Shelby, of Jackson; his sons, MichaelShelby, of Brookhaven, Ramone Shelby, of Hattiesburg, DennisShelby, of South Carolina, and James Shelby, of Atlanta, Ga.; hisbrothers, Leo, Cleo and Eugene Shelby, all of Detroit, Mich.; hisspecial sisters, the Dillon sisters and Alice White; 14grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
