BC girls whip Cathedral

NATCHEZ — The undefeated Bogue Chitto Lady Bobcats posted theireighth win of the season Thursday night with a 20-4 districtvictory over the Natchez Cathedral Lady Greenies in slowpitchsoftball.

Bogue Chitto, coached by Scott Leggett, improved to 8-0 on theseason and are 1-0 in district play.

“We did a good jog staying focused on this being a districtgame,” said Leggett. “It was an important win. The girls did agreat job. We put a lot of hits together.”

The Bobcats led 5-1 after the first inning. Then 6-1 and 7-1 inthe third. In the fifth, Bogue Chitto exploded for 13-3 run tosecure the win.

Bogue Chitto outhit Cathedral 21-5. The Greenies committed fiveerrors to the Bobcats two.

Chelsey Miller sparked the Bobcats with a triple and 3 singles.Candace Avants doubled and singled twice. Drilling 3 singles eachwere Devon Welch and Jessie Miller. Shaquille Burton tripled anddoubled.

Contributing to the Bogue Chitto win with a triple and a singlewas Latoya Braxton. Dori Hall and Kelli Howard each singledtwice.

Cathedral got a triple from Caitlin Huffines. Claire Kendasingled twice. Megan Whittington and Kalln Kirkwood hit safely.

Junior varsity

Bogue Chitto rolled over Cathedral 14-8. Christinna May postedthe win. The Bobcats outhit the Greenies 13-7.

At the plate, Mikki Mitchell homered for the Bobcats. HannahNichols doubled. Smashing 2 singles each were Hannah Holmes andLaken Crosby. Singling were Darcy Miller, Morgan Roberts, KimThomas, Holly Miller, Chassity Moak, Amanda Owen and May.
