Services for Azria “Bob” Buie, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, July 16 at Second Baptist Church. Burial services will beMonday, July 18 at the Natchez National Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 1-7 p.m. with family hour from 6-7p.m. at Williams Mortuary.
Mr. Buie, 84, died July 8, 2005, at the G.V. “Sonny” MontgomeryVeterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born in Bogue Chitto onOct. 17, 1920, to Willie Buie and Lemmie Walls Adams.
He was a plumber for 50 years in Brookhaven. He attended Mt.Zion School and Alexander High School. He was a veteran of WorldWar II where he served in the Army. He was a member of SecondBaptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board and was SundaySchool Superintendent.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughters, BarbaraAnn Buie and Elizabeth Ann Buie.
Survivors are his wife, Rebecca Buie, of Brookhaven; his sons,Jerry Buie, of Brookhaven, Joseph Buie and his wife, Evette, ofRichmond, Calif., Jimmy Buie and his wife, Tammy, of Richmond,Calif., James Buie, of Sacramento, Calif., Jonathan Buie, and hiswife, Bonita, of Brookhaven, Wydell Richardson and his wife,Michelle, of Shreveport, La., and Demetric Richardson, ofBrookhaven; his daughters, Floressa Fortenberry, of Bellwood, Ill.,Gloria Smith, of Brookhaven, and Debbie Sartin and her husband,Reginald, of Brookhaven; his brother, Leroy Adams, of Biloxi; hissisters, Alma Lloyd, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Johnnie Mae Wells, ofWestwego, La.; his stepbrother, Bud Henderson, of Ohio; hisstepsister, Kathleen Henderson, of Ohio; 21 grandchildren; and 12great-grandchildren.
