Services for Ruby Lee Smith Ballard, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.today, May 6 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Ballard, 84, died May 4, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 10, 1920, to VirgilSmith and Amy C. Case Smith.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Easthaven BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, RoscoeSmith and Plez Ballard Sr.; her sister, Elaine Allen; and abrother, James Elmer Smith.

Survivors are her daughters, Lona Smith Waldon, of DenhamSprings, La., and Joyce Ballard Smith, of Brookhaven; her sons,Plez Ballard Jr., of Collierville, Tenn., and Keith Ballard, ofBrookhaven; her sister, Mildred Smith Cupit, of Brookhaven; herbrother, Harold Edward Smith, of Los Angeles, Calif.; ninegrandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
